Keyboard Failure

Thought keyboard was bad because can`t type system password, but got new one and still the same also when I do f8 it comes up "keyboard failure", what part of computer controls the keyboard?

This is a problem that plain sucks, you just feel like you can't do anything. To figure out what's doing this, I start with rebooting the computer and try entering the BIOS, typically a push delete to enter settings type screen. If it works here, it's probably a driver in Windows that you should uninstall then reinstall. If it doesn't work here and you've tried another keyboard it's either a disabled port in the BIOS settings, or the port on the motherboard is no longer functional. If you have a PS/2 keyboard, the round plug type, try a USB and vice versa. Post back if you need more help.
