Help, Computer will not Boot

by Sam

Hi there, I have recently began to assemble my first homebuilt computer. I have attached the processor, RAM and video card to the motherboard, and stuck everything in the case, wired up the 2 power connectors, and all the case wiring, and went for a test boot just to see if it would power on. When I switch on the PSU, the motherboard lights up as it should, but when I hit the case power button, all I hear is a click, no fans, and no other boot up action whatsoever. Has anyone encountered a situation like this before?

Thank you.

This is a common problem with a new build, the good news it's usually an easy fix. Most often this is just the jumper wires from the case to the motherboard that aren't connected properly. The computer tower cases page on this website should have what you need to get you through. Another common thing to forget is to connect the secondary power wire on the motherboard for the CPU.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
