Connecting The Computer Case With Pin Connectors

In the picture shown with the instructions about how to connect the computer case to the motherboard I see there is an adapter connected to the power, speaker, and LED connections that connects them to the motherboard. It appears the motherboard also has a pin setting that matches that adapter for the pins to fit. My case connections are like the ones in the picture with the adapter attached, however my motherboard has more pins and does not fit the adapter. What is the best solution? Are there other adapters to purchase that will allow the connections to fit the motherboard?

Answer

Since I found these the first time in my Asus board, I have yet to find them anywhere else. Because there are so many motherboard pin configurations on these connections, I doubt they will be available. I think it was just something that is included with a board if you're lucky.

The good news is you don't need them. They make the job much easier but you can do without. If you are not sure which connections go together consult the documentation that came with your motherboard. If you don't have the manual, check the manufacturers website, they will usually have PDF manuals you can download that will show you which connections go where.

If you do come across a site that does sell the connectors that fit on the motherboard, post it here.
